she stole our hearts
We love fan mail. Seriously love it. But when it comes from New Zealand, and includes a photo? Hearts a-flutter. Sue ordered the book and beautiful Isager Alpaca 2 to create our fabulous (and now fabulously popular) stole. And then she ordered more yarn, to work the stole in another colorway. Yes, she loves it that much. Sue writes:
I just wanted to let you know that I've finished the stole and am truly delighted—I love it! As it's the middle of winter here in New Zealand I have been living in it and showing it off for the last couple of days since I finished it! Wonderful project, beautiful stole and yarn, and terrific book!

Hello ... I am trying to find the measurements for your stunning Stole. I have browsed through all the Projects that Members have Knitted but no one mentioned the actual finished Width or Length of the Stole.
I did read that it is ONE SIZE ??
Also if we are not able to purchase the same Yarn as you used, what other Yarn/Brand would you suggest we might
use to knit the Stole in ?

Sandy, thanks for the comment! The pattern indicates the finished size is app. 29 1/4" x 80". That will depend on the yarn you use, your gauge, etc. You can order Isager's Alpaca2 here, in the colorways of the stole, or create your own combination: http://shop.yarnery.com/alpaca-2/
As for other yarn, you'll want something that has the same lovely drape as Alpaca2. A few possibilities that come to mind include Cascade's Heritage Silk, Classic Elite's Fresco, or Shibui's Staccato. We'll be posting a variation with Shibui's linen as well. Hope this helps!
